Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed all banks and financial institutions to pay attention to the health of their employees as the risk of corona virus is increasing. NRB has also directed all banks and financial institutions to form Corona Virus Protection Management Group.

 

NRB issued a circular on Thursday giving such instructions. All banks are also required to bear the cost of health care for employees during the Corona virus.

 

Necessary arrangements will be made to keep the employees infected with COVID-19 safe in isolation at home, hospital, or hotel immediately. Necessary arrangements will be made to keep the employees who have come in contact with the infected or on contract training safe at home or in the hotel quarantine as per the need and the entire cost will be borne by the banks and financial institutions, ‘the circular said.

 

As the risk of corona virus has been increasing in recent times, it has been mentioned in the circular to make arrangements to work from home and go to the office alternately. Banks and financial institutions in more than 200 active districts and Kathmandu Valley have issued instructions to 50 percent of the employees to take turns.

 

Similarly, NRB has also mentioned in the circular to give more priority to digital media. In addition, banks and financial institutions will have to make arrangements to come to the office only if the PCR test and the report is negative when the employees posted outside the area return to the organization. It has been mentioned that the remaining employees should be paid a full salary by the banks and financial institutions by making arrangements to work from home.
